Cannabis Tours

Rod Di Mercurio owns Canna’tarium Tours, which leads limousine tours to pot shops around the state, pairing the tours with skiing and outdoor recreation stops. He has made Sunshine Solutions and the Bailey area’s hiking trails, fishing, wineries and vacation destinations an option on his tour menu.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Di Mercurio said about Bailey. “It’s a very rural community, a small community, tight-knit. We’re looking forward to doing a lot more there.”

Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area

CR 96
Lake George, CO

Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area is located below the dam of the Eleven Mile Reservoir near Lake George in the southeast corner of South Park. The narrow, dirt road traversing the canyon used to be the old Colorado Midland Railroad bed before the dam and reservoir were constructed. Unlike the reservoir area, which has an open basin and rangeland type topography, the canyon itself is forested, lush, and rocky. Eleve Mile Canyon cuts through the plain holding the South Platte River in its rocky bottom. As the river is unleashed from the dam above, its twists and crashes against huge boulders lining the canyon floor. A canopy of large trees provides a screen of shade that floats across the canyon with the moving sun. Eleven Mile Canyon is an unexpected paradise.

Anglers and writers consistently tout Eleven Mile’s large reservoir for its outstanding fishing. When not reeling in a rainbow, brown, cutthroat, kokanee or pike, there are nearly five miles of scenic hiking and biking trails that await exploration. Canoe the day away around the shores of the backcountry. Fish from the shore or a boat while enjoying scenic vistas. Camp comfortably in designated campsites located around the shoreline, nestled among trees in the backcountry, or tucked away in secluded canyon pockets and remote hillsides.
